Day 1: Welcome to Tanzania – Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our team will warmly greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Settle into your peaceful lodge and meet your guide for a detailed trek briefing. This is your chance to learn more about the trail, safety tips, and what to expect. Enjoy dinner and relax in the serene setting of Arusha as you prepare for your Mount Meru journey.

Day 2: Into the Wild – Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

Your adventure begins with a drive to Momella Gate, the starting point of the Mount Meru trek. After registration and a short briefing, you’ll begin a scenic hike through thick forest where you may spot giraffes, buffaloes, monkeys, and a variety of birds. The path winds gently uphill, making it ideal for your first trekking day. After about 4–5 hours, you’ll reach Miriakamba Hut, nestled in the forest with wide views of the valley below. Settle in, enjoy a warm meal, and get some rest.

Day 3: Changing Landscapes – Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

Today’s trail takes you up to Saddle Hut at 3,500 meters. You’ll leave the forest behind and enter a beautiful alpine zone, with open meadows and views of the Meru crater and cliffs. The air gets cooler and thinner, and you may start to spot Mount Kilimanjaro on the horizon. Once you arrive at Saddle Hut, you can rest or take an optional short hike to Little Meru for better acclimatization and stunning views.

Day 4: Summit Day – Saddle Hut to Socialist Peak & Back

You’ll begin your climb to the summit around midnight, guided by moonlight and headlamps. This is the most challenging day of the trek, but also the most rewarding. After several hours of uphill hiking, you’ll reach Socialist Peak (4,566m) just in time to witness a golden sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro and the dramatic crater below. After celebrating your achievement, begin your descent back to Saddle Hut for breakfast, then continue to Miriakamba Hut for your final overnight on the mountain.

Day 5: Descent to Momella Gate – Return to Arusha

After breakfast, enjoy a peaceful descent through the forest, taking time to spot wildlife and enjoy the changing scenery. After 3–4 hours, you’ll arrive back at Momella Gate, where your trek officially ends. You’ll receive a certificate of completion and be met by your driver for the return transfer to Arusha. Rest, reflect, and celebrate your mountain adventure.

Day 6: Departure – Until Next Time
